Since warm air is lighter than cool air you will find that in any room there are layers of air with varying temperatures, with the warmest air being near the ceiling. During these cold months you should run your ceiling fan in a clockwise direction at a slower speed. By doing this you will push that warmer air up against the ceiling and then down the walls of the room, creating recirculation of that warmer air without creating a chilling breeze.
